School might be out for many of the children living in the UK right now but the management team at RFI and SFI have entered the classroom (virtually) by taking part in the Barclays Scale up Business Leadership Course.

Barclays Scale Up UK is hosted by Cambridge Judge Business School. The course offers an innovative programme which aims to enhance the performance and competitiveness of high-potential early-stage businesses with growth appetite as well as growth potential that are deemed to be engines of growth in the UK.

The programme is designed to support the companies by helping them formulate, articulate and implement a growth plan for their business through defining and articulating the business value proposition, designing a sustainable business model, enhancing operational and leadership capabilities and strengthening financial literacy.

10 companies from the North West have taken part in the interactive sessions which have covered modules in strategy, leadership, culture, management and finance. The group has taken opportunity to listen to each company’s story, share their experiences and provide a valuable insight into ideas and techniques they use to running a successful business.

Gill Clarke, Business Co-Ordinator, Jane Dee, Care Co-Ordinator, Mark Rybczynski, Clinical Director and Jennifer Laptew, Marketing Executive have taken taking part during various stages of the programme. The team have enjoyed exploring new topics, working with other likeminded professionals, expanding their business knowledge and gaining new skills.

Jennifer Laptew, Marketing Executive has learnt a lot from being on the course “. The Barclays Scale Up programme has helped us to understand the nuts and bolts of running a successful company and given us the opportunity to learn new skills. This together with the application of our existing skills will translate into new and exciting opportunities for us.

With the health care sector proving its more vital than ever this year we can apply our knowledge to shape a culture that focuses on professionalism, dignity and respect.  As a company we can set an example and create a reputable, sustainable and robust future for the health care sector”.
