Jo Seedle

Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist

T: 07780 975604

Jo qualified as an Occupational Therapist from Salford University in 1983. She commenced employment in 1983 with Blackburn, Hyndburn & Ribble Valley Health Authority in an adult rehab department. Jo then continued as a Basic Grade OT working within stroke rehab, Orthopaedics, rheumatology and burns. These areas of work included the general rehabilitation of ward clients, equipment assessments, splinting and the manufacture of pressure garments.

Jo always had a desire to pursue a paediatric career and agreed to diversify in 1996, when she was offered the opportunity to join a developing community paediatric service in Blackburn. She took on a caseload of mainstream and complex needs children, supplying a large area of community schools and several local special schools.

She was able to utilise a variety of standardised tests and assessments with DCD referrals but moreover, placed emphasis upon the clinical observation skills that stepped outside the realm of standardisation. This type of assessment offers no restrictions and is based on experience. Jo has an extensive knowledge and repertoire of assessment techniques.
