Rehabilitation for Independence and A1 Risk Solutions join forces to support the National Back Exchange 2021 conference, “Back Together”
The National Back Exchange (referred to as “NBE”) is a non-profit membership association whose goal is to develop, disseminate and promote evidence-based best practice in all aspects of moving and handling and musculoskeletal health.
The organisations vision is to promote “Excellence in all aspects of moving and handling”.
The conference, held at the Jury’s Inn, Leicestershire saw a number of activities running over the three-day event, including exhibitions, conference sessions and speakers before concluding with the NBE awards dinner.
The second day of the conference saw Jo Webb, Occupational Therapist and Case Manager at Rehabilitation for Independence and, Deborah Harrison, Managing Director of A1 Risk Solutions hosting two concurrent sessions. The sessions titled “The Hygiene/Access Sling Assessment Tool (HASAT): International consensus approach to promote safe prescription” was well attended with participants actively responding on the process of safe moving and handling when utilising the slings.
The feedback from the participants will be utilised in the health sector to ensure users of the slings are confident using them and ensuring the clients feel comfortable and safe. This new process will be applied and utilised to ensure the safe moving and handling of people who depend on the use of a sling.
