Occupational Therapy Week 2020

Why are we celebrating OT week?

I do not think there is a single person out there who has not benefitted from the advice or actions of a health professional. Our health care providers have proved their worth over and over and this year that proclamation has never been more profound. 2020 has been a tough year but it is also one we should celebrate, without such diverse individuals working in the health care sector this year would have been much bleaker.

2020 has brought us a major pandemic and disrupted all our lives but we have also witnessed the heroic actions of our front-line workers. We have seen fine examples of humanity and community coming together to shine through. Without the efforts of health professionals from all disciplines coming together to protect humanity we would not have seen the amazing teamwork, performance and understanding used to overcome barriers and protect others.

In recognition of these heroic effects we are working with The Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) to support Occupational Therapy Week (#OTWeek). OT Week runs from Monday 2nd to Sunday 8th November and is designed to raise awareness, protect our health professionals, and nurture the next generation of occupational therapists.

The theme for this year’s event is “securing the future workforce and increasing diversity within the profession”. We want to inspire people from all backgrounds to choose occupational therapy as a career.

We work with experienced and dedicated staff who are diverse and individual, bringing a variety of knowledge, skills and experience to our company, making us a truly diverse organisation. During Occupational Therapy Week we want to inspire people from all backgrounds to choose occupational therapy as a career, so we decided to share and celebrate the exciting stories from our amazing occupational therapists.
